Meet the Tunstall Gem4, Our Newest Innovation in Connected Care
At Tunstall, we’re dedicated to constantly innovating through technology and people-centric solutions to help people worry no more. As market leaders in mobile personal emergency response services (MPERS), we help support the active, independent lifestyles of our clients and their families, through 3G/4G wearable devices and smartphone applications so users can still rely on our 24/7 Customer Care Centre outside their homes. Our latest addition to the Connected Care range is the Tunstall Gem4 - in this article we’ll take a closer look at how it works and who it’s for.
What is the Tunstall Gem4?
The Tunstall Gem4 is the new addition to our Mobile Care services. It’s a 4G wearable MPERS device that users can use to connect with Tunstall’s Customer Care Centre when they need help while not at home. It is a combination of a mobile personal emergency response system, GPS locator, and fall detector. When activated, the user will be connected to a Care Consultant who will identify their emergency and location so help can be sent to them immediately.
How does the Tunstall Gem4 work?
The Tunstall Gem4’s design allows the user to wear it around their neck, belt loop or even stored in a pocket or bag, allowing easy and quick access to the device when needed. The alarm call can be triggered by pressing the SOS button. It has a very short response time before the user is connected to Tunstall’s 24/7 Customer Care Centre. Users will then hear a voice confirming the activation of the device.
Following the activation, Care Consultants determine the situation and whether family or friends must be contacted to assist the user or contact emergency services immediately. Also, as part of our Connected Care protocol, the consultant will stay on the line with the customer until help arrives.
In case of a false alarm, users can simply press the SOS button again to cancel the call.
What are the Gem4’s benefits and features?
The Tunstall Gem4 offers plenty of benefits to its users, including:
It’s very easy to use with only one SOS button.
The wearer will be located accurately through the GPS location feature included in the device.
It’s connected to our 24/7 Customer Care Centre.
It also features automatic fall detection that can be enabled if required.
A two-way communication system allows the wearer to communicate with the Care Consultant at the other end of the line.
It comes with a USB-powered charging dock, which can also trigger the SOS alarm if the pendant is within Bluetooth range and sufficiently charged.
It provides feedback via voice prompts and vibration.
Finally, it also has the ability to find lost devices.
The device also boasts plenty of features to make it durable and long-lasting, such as:
A rechargeable battery that lasts up to 72 hours under normal environmental conditions.
IP67 water-resistant features, which makes sure it still functions in case of contact with liquids.
Compatibility with 4G networks for wide and reliable connectivity.
Who are the users of the Tunstall Gem4?
This device is suitable for many people who require assistance while leaving their home to travel or simply be out and about to explore the great outdoors. This includes:
Older people
Those who are at risk of falling
Lone workers
Individuals who live an active lifestyle and love travelling
Those who have limited mobility, long term health conditions or learning difficulties; and
